The Intempo line of oak furniture has been exclusively engineered to address the needs and problems of the psychiatric and youth home habitat.

Our furniture is extra heavy with oversized components fastened together employing steel to steel devices within the woodwork proper. A good example is our latest super strong dining / desk chair. This chair is fabricated employing oversized oak components and engineered to be available in a variety of weights (40,50,60 or 70 #'s). If you can not pick it up- it can not be smashed on to the floor, wall or other furniture. This model is also available with an oversized bookshelf which doubles as a raceway for another steel rod.

Components that can become weapons.
No removable components such as drawer faces or metal drawer glides.
All Drawers are non removable by clients and are rated at 300 pounds. Drawers also have a top rear panel prohibiting spill off of contents over top of drawer back at rear.

Destructive and intensive wear of upholstery.
Upholstered furniture is constructed as a series of heavy duty solid oak panels, assembled using steel to steel attachments. The fabric is stapled to plywood panels which are attached within this framework. There are 4 major advantages to this system:

1. Fabric is not extended over areas where it is subject to extensive wear.
2. Individual areas of damage are easily repaired. Individual panels can be removed by staff and reupholstered. Intempo can send upholstery or whole panels ready to attach to framework.
3. Upholstery is backed by plywood. No cardboard or particle board is used anywhere.
4. Re-upholstery of the entire unit becomes far less expensive than the "normal" re-upholstery projects - and also extends the life of the furniture.
